As stated in the title, the fps i have in this game are nothing short of horrifying, considering that i can play any AAA title come up until now at high graphic settings or better, the hardware is not an issue

I attempted some solution stated in the official forum about possible Direct Draw not functioning properly or being disabled, but i checked and it's perfectly functional, other older games that use it work fine

I also disabled all Super-sampling and any advanced graphical feature just in case, but noting, not even playing at 800x600 solved anything, not even windowed

System Spec:

AMD FX 8320
8 Gb ram
GTX 970
Windows 7 64 bit

All drivers updated and direct x functional in any other games

This is probably because you are running it fullscreen with legacy DirectDraw enabled. My FPS will tank as well if I do this. Windowed mode is fine, but playing FullScreen causes the FPS to tank completely.

Open "MajXPrefs" with notepad, located in C:\Users\<YourName>\Documents\My Games\MajestyHD

Change:
<PixDepth>16</PixDepth>
To:
<PixDepth>32</PixDepth>

This will most likely fix your problem.

I had the same problem, although I had to activate VSync as well so get more frames (before 6-8 fps, now 11-15 fps).

To enable VSync change

<VSync>0</VSync>

to

<VSync>1</VSync>


(You can also disable intro videos with <IntroVideo>0</IntroVideo> )

I find that simply alt-tabbing out of the game (back to the desktop) and back into the game fixes the sluggish framerate.

Windows 10. Majesty Gold HD.

Just have to do this once on every game start.

Other systems (i.e. Wine + Linux) might not be affected.
