I noticed yesterday that there's already been an update to the Steam version of Magicmaker, which, among other things, tweaks the "Long Live the Queen" requirements to allow a certain maximum number of fairy kills before failing - something I'd certainly appreciate since at the moment, I can't imagine winning this mission otherwise.

Is there any word yet on offering the updated version on GoG?

Playing with the latest version, which is available on Steam, would be quite the pleasure. I've asked on the Magicmaker community hub on Steam about when an update for us GoG users would appear, but there has been no response.

New update for us too, please?
Sorry about that! I'm still getting a handle on how to run everything post release. I expect the update for users to be ready tomorrowish.

polkaman, I tried searching for your post on the steam community hub, but I can't seem to find it for some reason.
Thanks for the response. If I was a bit impatient, it's just because it's a short game, and that one unfinished mission was taunting me; also I hadn't seen any communication here about that sort of thing. This is probably the only game I've bought on GoG on release (because it just plain looked that fun).

Will the coming update include a fix for the "phantom material" bug with the spells? I saw mention of this on Steam and figure that's what's causing the bugs and crashes I'm now getting on both character save slots I've used so far. In brief, what I'm seeing is effects in the spells' descriptions that I haven't selected, and spells changing effects as soon as I edit them and re-open the editing window. I will then get a crash most often when clicking on the "randomize" button on the right side of the window, and far less often, when clicking on an individual material slot. I've tried emptying all material slots, clicking "finish", then re-opening the editing window, and that does not solve the issue.

Also, I notice now when deleting an old spell, then re-checking the list of saved ones, it appears the one I tried to delete is still on the list, and a different saved spell slot is getting deleted.

This may very well be the wrong place to post such things, but I haven't used the forums here much, and a Tasty Stewdios forum I found appeared to be dead.

You didn't see my message because I go by another name on Steam; FootFloggingFaceFingerer. I posted in the "September 24th Game Update" thread.
This update will not fix the phantom materials bug, but if anybody has a save that has been corrupted by this bug, send your savefile to tastystewdios AT gmail DOT com and I'll see if I can restore it manually.

You can find your savefile in one of the numbered folders in C:\Program Files (x86)\Magicmaker\saves\. It is named SAVEFILE.

The update will probably hit tomorrow, actually. I forgot to take into account the time difference between where I live and the GOG office.
