I downloaded a version of Magic Carpet but when I save the file and jump to the next level, after completing it, my saved file is gone. It acts like it is my first time playing again. I have Windows Vista and run the game off of DOSBox. I keep the game files under C:/users. I'd really appreciate some help. :)

This reads as something similar to an issue that I had in trying to play via DosBox under Ubuntu. What I found was that games were being saved to a directory called "CARPET.CD" that was being created in my home directory, and I think that my solution was to simply give up and let it use that directory.

I'm afraid that I don't seem to recall any further specifics with any real confidence, but hopefully the above might give you a new avenue of inquiry. Perhaps you might solve your problem by finding the corresponding directory on your system and moving your save-games to that.
