For me it seems to be very inconsistent. Sometimes it kills things, sometimes not. It also seems to have a pitifully short range.

As far as I remember from when I played this game when it was new. Global Death has quite short range, but it kills everything. It works best used in succession (like two or three times), it needs a little while to activate and when it goes in a second or two everything dies. I remember it was great for killing Viverns.

You can compare it with the BFG from Doom. You don't see a projectile but it pretty much annihilates everything within the radius of where it's used
