Hi there.

On level 13 (Galiphur, a daytime winter-ish level with 4 competing wizards) glitches on me after about 15 minutes + some progress. First some sprites (the other wizards themselves) go into rectangular glitchy shapes, then the game quits with a command prompt error dump. I will add the dump later, but did any of you experience this as well?

Thanks in advance!

Was it anything like the screen shot I posted here?

http://www.gog.com/forum/magic_carpet_series/magic_carpet_2_bugs

I submitted a support ticket to GOG on this, but wasn't much help. Said they didn't run into the problem.

The strange thing is, I haven't had that specific problem for a while. I've had a lot more problems with outright crashes.

There's a very useful feature of the game, though, that's really helped out. Whenever you pause the game, you'll see a popup menu in the middle of the screen. The top two buttons are Save Level and Load Level, which saves your progress in the current level.

The great thing about this is, it persists between game restarts. I was able to finish the game, despite having ongoing crashes every 15 minutes or so. Just remember to save often. I get a game crash to the desktop, restart the game, go back to the same level, hit pause, and then the "Load Level" button. Right back to where I last saved in that level.

Hope that helps out.

Hello!

Thanks a lot! The saving tip is most useful! Kinda forgot that :)

And no, the glitch affected only other wizards' sprites, then the game crashed.
I will look into it. Thank you again!

Best,
nagz
It does the same thing over and over again, even after reinstall.
The game is virtually unplayable this way. I regretted buying it. :(

Have you tried switching the rendering mode? The configuration tool should be available in the start menu. Try other rendering modes like DirectDraw, DirectX, Overlay, Surface etc. and see whether that does anything.

Thanks for the tip
however it sometimes quits (more and more frequently) even without any graphic glitch + why did it start to make that halfway through the game then, i may wonder.

Nonetheless, i will try it. thanks! :)
