It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Yes! It worked for me, thank you so much!

Obviously these two NEED to be included in the installer, DEFINITELY find a way to get users this file, there has to be a way.

I just did a fresh format, so while not many people will have this issue (bc they already have those files installed from years ago), it's pretty obvious the issue is probably not on the users end given this fact.

Thanks again!

Zyga's answer worked perfectly for me. Thanks!

zyga.239: Download microsoft visual studio C++ redistributable packages for 32bit intel architecture (microsoft puts x86 in the file name for those). You will need two vesions: one for 2010 and one more for 2012. You can pick whatever language that suits you, I picked English.

2012: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679
Unfortunately, the top link is now broken. :(

Does can anyone confirm the correct one? I found something that may be right, but I am not sure:

I think that's the correct link, yes.

Here's what I had to do to get it working:

I followed zyga's instructions, using the new link in place of the first outdated one. Unfortunately, that just broke GOG so it wouldn't run anymore.

Then I downloaded and installed the 2015 visual studio C++ redistributable x86 version to replace the one I removed, from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145 (This step may or may not have done anything, because that still didn't fix it.)

Finally I removed and reinstalled GOG, and it worked. Good luck!
