I can not figure out the Amun Cul Dagger quest. I'm in the treasure Trove I've read the story 100 times I've tried clicking ACTIVATE on every item the story mentions in every order possible. HYDRA, MONKIES, SHIELD, TREASURE. Etc... I've tried without TREASURE. and I've tried every order. I don't really even understand the nature of the puzzle or where I'm suppose to surmise clues from the lengthy passage as theres a dozen mentions of numbers and the four items in question. Can someone Please give me a clear answer on this one. I'm kinda done with it. Thanks guys.

The hints are contained in the storybook on the wooden crate. Try using that as your "hint" guide.

Thank you for the response. I appreciate the answer. However I have read THAT storybook 100 times. I can't make head or tails of it. There's a mention of the HYDRA, the SHEILD, and the 3 MONKEYS, and A Vague mention of TREASURE. There's numbers "one" "Two" and "Three" but they hardly match up to anything. I've spent 3 hours with this last night. I'm not making head way.

The problem is that it's random which story you get. The game picks a story when you enter the room, so if you saved outside you can reload and enter again to get a new one. You're looking for four references to items in the room: the Nautanai shrine, Hydra, Chalice, Heart, Treasure, Monkeys, Wingolin, and Shield. Turn the light to each item in the order they appear in the story and press Activate on each one.

Here's a few I got by reloading:

The Servant's Choice: Nautanai, Chalice, Shield, Heart
The Union: Nautanai, Chalice, Hydra, Shield
Guardian and the Canyon: Treasure, Hydra, Monkeys, Shield
The Prince's Heart: Nautanai, Shield, Wingolin, Heart

I've gotten that story, so I'm pretty confident that your claim "I've tried every order" isn't true.

Make sure you're clicking Activate when you put the light on the various objects. Even if you ignore the book, you should figure it out pretty quickly through trial and error since the game will inform you when you've made a mistake. For example, my book was The Guardian and the Canyon. So, I needed to move the light onto the Treasure, click Activate, move the light to the Hydra, click Activate, move the light to the Monkeys, click Activate and finally place it on the Shield and click Activate.
