Weight is death. So who'll want to loot this if it adds weighs for nothing sure?
It is going to be used to craft equipment, so it is worth something for that, and if you have unlocked the bank you can dump the crafting materials there. However yes it does mean you need to return to one of the cities with a bank frequently.

Would be nice if characters could buy a cart and donkey to store their loot in though, and you know maybe hire guards/mooks as well, so that one can carry only the essential things into the dungeon and return to the cart to store away loot, then return back to the city with it.
