This sounds 100% stupid, but how do I get in the first house? The detective gets into the door, sees a car and a tree blocking the way, then what am I supposed to do? There is no path anywhere unless I'm seriously missing something. I pressed E everywhere too.

This is really a weird beginning IMO.

Nevermind I figured it out -- I need to jump at a specific point. I did try jumping before but probably got the wrong point.
