I'm stuck at the beginning of the road to Valik. I'm trying to enter Nabros Castle
I've read the official walkthrough where it says "Go to the Northeast following the road to Valik".
As soon as I enter the road to Valik I'm FRIED! - END OF GAME!
Do I have to get my hit points really high to stop this or am I going the wrong way?

Yeah, I found the directions to Nabros very confusing as well. Once you are past the acid rain near the mountains and have triggered the teleporter, you get on the road but don't go east to Valik, you go south into where the castle is. The guards are just a few guys instead of 10 of them on the road north of the castle.

Well, I haven't got as far as you suggest because I keep getting FRIED - BURNT to death at the very beginning of the road to Valik.
I've left the far Northeast corner of Nabros and have just entered Valik. I'm Level 7.

I went too far.
As soon as you get to the barren mountains you turn left and go west along the edge of them (on the north side of the trees).
