I am trying to get to Nabros forrest. I was told by the wondering hermit to avoid patrols and go north to the forest till the end , then go south and west, I was supposed to wind up in the North of the castle. However, the forest dead ends, which forces me to the road, either way are dangerous guards. HELP. How do I get through there?

Also, I want to level up a bit more. I have beat the spore woods , the beach and the rat cave and been to the tower of Melancholy. Where else has mobs that my 7th level characters can take on?

It is sort of confusing.

Coming along the road from the west side of the map (Road A), you will see a green space leading off into the woods on the north (above the road). Follow this way around until it leads you back onto another road (Road B). Cross Road B. Sneak south down Road B and, if you do it right, you can avoid the guards close to the crossroads. Cross Road A and get into forest on the south side of that road. Go through that section of forest until you can turn north and cross back over Road A again and get into the forest on the north side of Road A. Go through that patch of forest to the north and you will encounter Road C. As a side note, the forests north and south of Road A are good places to explore at this level.

You are looking for a path that leads north off of Road C, then turn left (west) almost immediately and run along the narrow strip between the Smokey Mountains and the forest. Do not go north into Vilak yet. The path along the foot of the mountains will damage your characters, so use the run key and start your passage at full health. When you come to the end of the mountains, turn south and you will find a) the fast-travel portal for Nabros Forest (Hurray! No more guard-dodging!) and b) the back way into the castle.

One more note: start putting points into Learning each and every level, if you haven't already, and make it a point to collect experience-boosting items. It makes a big difference over time; you can be leveling 25-30% faster by mid-game.

If you have the deluxe edition, there is a Walkthrough which you can download right in your library.

IIRC this is roughly the path you need to follow. Avoid the red !
The path at the north end of the map is filled with toxic fumes so have your health high before going there.

EDIT : Huh, no way to display external images? ([IMG] code does not appear to work)

Spoily spoily...

If you are XP Hungry don't kill the Prince immediately,
his men will retreat after his defeat, while they may seem unbeatable at first they are an excellent XP Source that is vunerable to Magic, Stun and Bleeding.

Same goes for the first temple and it's corrupted guardian.

Just saying...
