I'm only level 3 so far, but I'm really liking the game - I just wish it came with a manual.

I'm at the Mushroom area and the poisonous ones are driving me crazy.

1) Is there a way to use your cleric's healing spells (or any "not-necessarily" combat spell) outside of combat? How?

2) When a character dies in battle, are they gone for good? I have been reloading A LOT lately.

The mushroom enemies, I finally kill the poison ones, but just before I'm able to kill the last "stun" mushroom one of my characters always dies from poison. It's like a race to finish each battle before a guy dies - because it seems like the poison effect stops when battle stops.

1. Yes. Unfortunately, I don't remember how, but I remember it being possible.

2. If you rest 24 hours (and have enough food to do so or use an inn), characters who die in battle will be revived.

3. I believe you are actually not supposed to actually fight the mushrooms.

Some Cleric Spells become available and you find them at the top of the main screen under a heart. Heal Wounds, Mass Heal, Heal, and Great Heal I think are the ones that show up. Certain spells are required for this Main Game map (like "Incinerate Air") and it's at the top you find these spells under their button.

Don't forget Cure Wounds. Sometimes, casting this spell before you rest may reduce the amount of rest you need. (Wounds take 8 hours to heal, while the SP Cure Wounds costs doesn't take that long.)
Thanks for the info

It escaped me to think of clicking on my cleric to see the heart icon at the top - I was busy trying to figure out how to do it inside the menu screen ...
