Hello guys

In 2008 I played in LOTR2 through DOSBOX and finished 4 or 5 levels. Now I've just installed GOG's version of LOTR2. I copied my old .SAV files in game's folder and decided to continue playing. But when I load these saves LORDS2 crashes. It seems that format of the .SAV files has changed and I can't resume my campaign.

Can anybody help me with that, maybe there are some tool exists. Or maybe just some cheat to jump to the needed level.

There might not be anything you can do. If you're in Vista, 7 or 8, try to put your files in here:

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Sierra\Lords of the Realm 2

and then try to load them again.

That's the only thing I know that might help.
If it's any help, I have saves of most of the maps (I wipe them out occassionally for housekeeping) so if you want to get a save point for a particular map I can just pass it on.

Yes, that would be great. I've stopped on level "Crusades". It has five primary counties (Latin Empire, Trebizond, Jerusalem, Abasids, Fatimids).

You're in luck. I have a copy of a savegame for that map right at turn 1. I've uploaded it to my public folder, you can get it here: https://skydrive.live.com/?mkt=en-gb#!/?cid=c842d0ad44e4da90&sc=documents&id=C842D0AD44E4DA90%21118

It took me a little while to find the sav directory though. It seems that if you're running as admin it saves it to program files, otherwise (for Vista at least) it saves it to: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\GOG.com\LOTR_RE\Lords2

If you drop the file in there it should be loadable.
It wokrs! Thank you very much!
