Hello,

I installed the game on Linux Mint 21.3 and the game wont run, i opened terminal to run it from there and it complains that:

Running Loop Hero
./Loop_Hero: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypto.so.1.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

any suggestions?
guided by a steam community forum that I am not allowed to post here, I was told to go here:

http://nz2.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/o/openssl/?C=M;O=D

and download "libssl1.1_1.1.1f-1ubuntu2.22_amd64.deb" and install it
after doing so I still cant run the game but terminal now has a different complain

now it says:

Running Loop Hero
./Loop_Hero: error while loading shared libraries: libldap_r-2.4.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

now I guess I need to figure out how to install this libldap thing

You don't need it: https://www.gog.com/forum/loop_hero/libldap_cannot_find_and_unable_to_start/post4

[SOLVED]

nice it works now thanks.

quick update for all other linux mint users, here are the quick and dirty instructions

you will need to download and install "libssl1.1_1.1.1f-1ubuntu2.22_amd64.deb" from this website:

http://nz2.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/o/openssl/?C=M;O=D

then go to your install folder and delete the "linuxlibs" located in:

/home/<your user name here>/GOG Games/Loop Hero/game/assets

and you are all done, you can now play the game issue free.

This is something that really should be corrected in GOG's installer for the game; so that the game can run without the user having to search for technical advice and tinker with system stuff that they may not understand. Was the issue reported to GOG support?
