I've come across this article featuring ten selected puzzles from adventure games and explaining what makes them great.

Loom is mentioned at number #8. They chose the "blunting the sword" puzzle at the forge. The author mentions the innovative use of game mechanics and its connection with the greater themes behind the game.
It's nothing "official", of course, just a writer's opinion, but I think it's nice to still see Loom remembered after so many years.
