First of all, I played, finished, loved and review the game with 5 stars.
Bugs I encounter thru my playthrough:
- Principal Island: The sign outside the library does not display or say anything when trying to read it.
- Principal Island: In the Water Castle, Twinsen climbs an invisible ladder to the left of the real ladder to exit.
- Temple of Bú: The trap with the rolling log in the first screen passed over Twinsen without causing any damage when activating the lever at the end of the staircase where the log falls.
- Principal Island: In Puerto Belooga, upon returning from passing the Temple of Bú, several parts of the ground momentarily turn blue, as if they were water.
- Principal Island: Impossible to enter the trench after eliminating the 2 soldiers inside on the military training camp.
- Citadel Island: When asking about Captain Le Borgne to Captain Victoria at the port, the dialogue translation text (spanish) does not match what the audio says.
- Proxima Island: Bug in both, the prison and the museum, when activating the platform to descend to the sewers, the platform descends but Twinsen does not. He gets stuck, and the only way to continue is by loading from the autosave or another save.
- Proxima Island: In the Museum with the alarm activated, the first guard robot on the second floor levitates when passing behind the cannon.
- Rebellion Island: No audio in the first dialogue attempt with Tatjana at the port and also with Soldier Stan at the camp.
- Mutant Factory: The first robot upon entering the last area sometimes levitates.
Feedback about some missing stuff compared to the original game that make it seem a bit "incomplete":
- Proxima Island: The siren doesn't sound when the museum alarm is activated, and the lights inside don't turn off. I missed the difference in lighting, color, and atmosphere in the museum with and without the alarm activated.
- The Horses! Where are the horses?
- I miss the different footsteps sound for snow, ice (Hamalayi) and sand (Desert), as well as in the pool in Funfrock's fortress. Here all footsteps sound the same on any other terrain, except on water.
Artistic and gameplay decisions that I didn't quite like:
- While I liked the new art direction, I miss a little bit more of the darker tone of the story and the elements that contribute to the game's overall atmosphere and mood. I understand the decision to "childify" everything a bit, it just didn't completely resonate with me.
- I was surprised by the absence of certain spaces. For example, they removed the second room in the Temple of Bú.
- Some "simplifications" in Twinsen's house, with fewer and smaller rooms, and it seemed less detailed, like the cellar next to the kitchen.
- I miss the magic mechanic, collecting and losing the bounce power of the ball.
- Not being able to control Twinsen and walk around in the epilogue, instead having it all be a cutscene was a huge disappointment for me.
Artistic and gameplay decisions that I really like:
- Although I think you went a bit overboard with the "annoying" aspect at times, I liked the addition of Luna and thought it was a great idea.
- I also really liked the change in Zoe's role in the story. It is undoubtedly a positive change that opens up many possibilities and refreshed the sense of surprise for those of us who already know the whole story by heart from playing the original so many times.
- The art direction is simply wonderful!
- Maps design and the possibility to zoom in to see more detail like in LBA2 is also perfect!
- The continuity and flow between the different areas of each island is impeccable and beautiful.
- While I kinda miss the clean, almost stately look of the library, I have to say that locating it underwater is something I would never have thought of and thought was a great idea.
Congratulations for everyone involved and thanks for the game!
I'm really looking forward to LBA2!
PS: I will continue adding more about everything later.
