Hi,

The quality of the music during the intro cinematic is rather bad. It's MIDI, whereas in the rest off the game, the same music track plays in CD quality.
Now, I know this is common in old games, but I distinctly remember the music during the intro playing in CD quality, back when I was playing LBA in the 90's.

Would anyone have information on this matter? Thanks in advance!

P.S. Although a distinct issue, this might be related to a more general problem mentioned in this thread: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/little_big_adventure_series/music_has_aweful_compression_the_origional_was_pure_cd_audio

EDIT: I found I could modify the sound card Dosbox emulates, in dosboxLBA.conf, and this changes the quality of MIDI, but still I don't want MIDI, I'd like to CD quality during cinematics. Is this doable?

It's not really doable - it's not the problem of the GOG release, it was how it was done in the original game. I think this design desicion was made because the CDA music could not be read from the disc together with the cinematics.

Too bad. Thanks for your answer anyway. Marking it as "solution'.

Not solved. There should be a way to change the MIDI music to "General MIDI". I wrote about this again:

With the original CD version, I am able to get the superior General MIDI music in DOSBox.
