Hello!

I have noticed a few problems with the current LBA1 game disc image.

Firstly, every track after Track #2 has the first 2 seconds cropped out. This is due to incorrect start values in LBA.DAT file. Fortunately, the values can be adjusted using a text editor. Here are the correct ones:

FILE "LBA.GOG" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
INDEX 01 10:47:52
TRACK 03 AUDIO
INDEX 01 14:00:01
TRACK 04 AUDIO
INDEX 01 17:00:19
TRACK 05 AUDIO
INDEX 01 19:32:45
TRACK 06 AUDIO
INDEX 01 22:20:34
TRACK 07 AUDIO
INDEX 01 25:07:32
TRACK 08 AUDIO
INDEX 01 26:45:72
TRACK 09 AUDIO
INDEX 01 30:27:07
TRACK 10 AUDIO
INDEX 01 32:02:62

However, there's another problem. Even with the correct start values, there are still clicks at the beginning of every track after Track #2. This, unfortunately, is a problem with the game disc image, LBA.GOG, and cannot be fixed that easily.

I have extracted the same tracks from a different version of the game which doesn't have any clicks. They are exactly the same length and quality (.wav file). Would it be possible for GOG to remake the image using the correct files? I can upload an archive with the correct music files (archive size 164 MB, extracted size 254MB ).

Many of us would appreciate the upload. Please post the link here. Thx!!

I suggest you to contact GOG Support and give them all the necessary info + your files DL link. I've done almost the exact same thing but with Fantasy General and they've accepted. The WAVs are a big plus because they can pick & choose compression themselves.
Then we could expect the music fix to be included in future official update. There might even be a reward coming your way.
Thanks for the correct values.
I was wondering if they just had set up DOSBox incorrectly but this seems to be a bigger problem.

Seeing as how this is still not fixed nowadays with the latest installer, I doubt it'll ever get fixed :I
I have the game on cd and ripped them once. I had popping at the start of each track too, so I'd be interested in having a version of the music without that.
I have ripped tracks from the original CD as well downloaded from online. The majority of tracks after the first one begin with a slight pop or click sound. It's actually a weird glitch with certain audio programs because the waveform has no silence at the start. When playing the same files through Audacity, there are no clicks at all. A workaround to this is adding a good 100ms or so of silence at the beginning of each track. No pops after that ;)
