Hi there!
I installed LBA2 for my son to play and he doesn't speak english.
At first, he played with spanish subtitles but then the game configuration changed all of a sudden and the subtitles are in english now.

I tried using the language setup several times. I even tryed in 2 different computers. And the subtitles are still in english.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and it won't work.

I even tried setting the language to french and subtitles to polish. Still, won't change.

I also tried changing the "lba2.cfg" file (in fact, it's set to "spanish" right now...), and still, it won't change.

Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a support center I can contact?
Please help :)

Thanks!

My friends... Same issue. I need spanish texts and only works whit english texts. Please help...
I also have this issue since I got the update which enabled cloud saves to the game. And I now know why changing the language doesn't work.

The language settings are stored in the file LBA2.CFG. However, after the cloud save update, there are two copies of this file, one in the main/root folder of the game, and another in the cloud_saves folder. When you run the game, it will use the config file from the cloud_saves folder, but if you use the setup program to change the language, it will modify the config file from the main folder instead. This way you will never be able to change the language.

Thus after you change the language in the setup program, you will have to copy the LBA2.CFG from the root folder to the cloud_saves folder. Or just change the cloud_saves\LBA2.CFG file directly with a text editor like Notepad.

This bug can be seen in the dosboxLBA2_single.conf file: in ":game" the cloud_saves folder is mounted, but it isn't mounted in ":setup".

You are my personal hero! Thank you! I had to deinstall the game first, but after reinstalling it and then using your advice, I can now play this game again in my mother tongue. Not that I don't understand English (I obviously do), but playing it in German is making me feel nostalgic.
So thanks a lot.

They broke it when they added cloud saves. It should be fixed with the latest installer
