Hey, so I downloaded LBA 2 on Windows 8. Download was fine, says it was installed successfully. I double click the shortcut, and the game never opens. Doesn't ever show up on my list of running programs on my Task Manager? Anyone else have this problem?

Just a guess, maybe your anti-virus is blocking it.

With Win 8, especially try installing the older DirectX components and running the game in compatibility mode and also as an administrator. It's all covered in GOG's general tips on crashing:

Finally worked! I found that if I plug in a wired mouse first, the game opens and runs perfectly! Don't know why that is, but hey, I'll take it.

Had the same issue and plugging in the mouse solved it.
