I'm at "item/loot level 8" now and just managed to kill an undead skeleton with "felt 10000" hitpoints with a spell combo dealing 273000 and more damage.
That's just sick...

Didn't seem "apocalyptical" either. Probably just two criticals mixing with a charged direct damage attack.

But it seems I finally grasp the mechanics. Well most of them...

Awesome!

Something like that happened to me as well. It was early in the game (Maelstrom Area). Most of my spell combos were doing about 2,000 points of damage, however, one of them did an insane 29,000 points of damage!
