I tried playing these before in the past as abandonware, but you needed dosbox to play them and became a huge hassle not even worth it.

So basically, do these need a seperate program or are these compaitble with new windows operating systems.

THey are using already packaged with either Dosbox or ScummVM.

Don't know when the last time you played on dosbox, but latest versions actually work really well on these games.

As for the versions included in the package, they are already set up so you don't have to tinker with the settings.

Personally I never found dosbox all that difficult to use, and mostly use the vanilla settings on latest builds. It was never a hassle for me.

As Baggins pointed out Larry 1-6(VGA version) run under ScummVM while the hi-res SVGA version of Larry 6 and Softporn run under DOSbox there already set up and configured to run right out of the box, just either run them through the shortcuts in your start menu, desktop or the shortcuts inside the game folder(there marked as "Launch <game name>" )
