So this collection is based on the 1994 Sierra anniversary collection or the 2006 Vivendi collection? Rather than the much more sought out Ultimnate Pleasure Pack (Larry 1-7).

So does this pack have the CD version of Larry 6 or just the floppy version like the 1994 collection? Does it include the enhanced SVGA version?

Why, no larry 7?

Does it have both the EGA and the VGA remake of Larry 1, or just the vga remake?

It has the EGA & VGA version of Larry 1 and the Talkie/CD version of Larry 6.
I'm passing this offer now, but if GOG starts selling Larry 7 then I will probably buy this (if it includes talkie version Larry 6). Vivendi collection was so awkwardly bad that I refused to buy it, so I hope that GOG collection is better. But as I'm one of those people who want complete series and because I had Amiga versions of the early games, but I have never played Larry 6 or 7 this offer sounds bit flawed to me. Nevertheless it's good to see that Larry isn't completely forgotten.

The state of Larry 6 is weird. It has voice acting, but it's the VGA version. Still, just by including the original Leisure Suit Larry AND Softporn Adventures, this thing blows the Vivendi edition out of the water.

Well apparently it has the talkie Larry 6, which hopefully means its running in the SVGA mode, rather than VGA mode. I can't remember if SVGA mode was limited to the talkie version or not.

I wonder if they are going to release Larry 7 and Larry's Casino (1998) as its own pack... I'd be a little shocked if they tossed in Magna Cum Laude (and will they risk including the uncensored version) and Box Office Bust...

On an interesting side note if no has noticed, this is one of only few Sierra games that Activision sold the rights to another company. Its currently owned by Codemasters.

So the question is, are the SVGA assets in with the files? Are they accessible?

ScummVM as far as I know can't load the SVGA version of the game yet. But that's the best hope, as I think the SVGA version was designed for 16-bit windows?

It just looks like the DOS-related files were included. I only saw the video driver "VGA320.DRV" nothing SVGA related in the game's directory
Well, I have backups of my CD version of LSL6 enhanced from the Collection Series set on my computer.

After running the install in the dosbox to get sound working right, and it also apparently sets up the 'vesa' settings for SVGA. The game appears to load fine in Dosbox.

My only issue is I'm not getting any 'speech' sound to work. But the graphics are working fine. The 484 megabyte "Resource.Aud" sound file is definitely in with the files.

For anyone intertested in hires LSL6 should be found in a 'hires' folder within the LSL6 folder. There should actually be a couple of folders in there including a "Lores", "Hires", "SFX", "VESA", "ENGLISH", and "AUD".

But this means that the SVGA version should work with minimum work, and certainly should be included in the GOG release.

Further notes; Lowres folder in classic release of the game, defaults to textboxes on screen. No speech as well.

Edit: Easy enough fix for the missing speech, just moved the Resource.aud out of the AUD folder directly into the HIRES & LORES folders.

There are no Lores, Hires, VESA or ENGLISH folders in the Mac or Windows versions of the GOG release :/
Oh, great another missing extra we need to petition GOG to include...

I'm assuming you don't see any other files such as 'vesa.drv' in the main folder?

The only other files in the hires folder that seem to have anything to do with the assets are; resource.000 (18,000 kb). Unfortunately that would share the same file name with the resource.000 (5,620 kb) in the lores folder.

So its not as if they simply could have dropped all the files into the master folder, as one of the resource.000 would have overwritten the other.

There is also a 'patch' folder within both the hires and lores folders, not sure if those include unique files or share the same files. But likely are needed.

BTW, The 'english' folder looks to be relatively pointless (there is a single *.ini file in there). The 'vesa' folder is just filled with a bunch of folders with drivers for different video cards. Probably useless as Dosbox probably uses its own driver.

Well, I just went and voted for SVGA Larry 6 on the wishlist. That's about all we can do, aside from maybe sending GOG copies of SVGA Larry 6. It seems way more likely that they just don't have a copy of it than them not being allowed to sell it.

I could probably send them the "hires" folder zipped. Not sure if there is anything else they would need. Anyone have a 'contact' email?

I'm not going to upload the entire folder, as I think it contains the entire game. It might be better if I knew if there were any specific individual files to send.

Best you can do is try the "contact us" link and select "other"
So just to be clear, basically the "only" thing that this collection is missing (assuming LSL7 is coming) is LSL6 SVGA?

Is it possible that GOG couldn't secure the art assets for the LSL6 SVGA version?

BTW, I'm guessing we'll see LSL7 bundled with the "less favorable" Larry games eventually.

Keep in mind I'm not a a huge 'larry' fan. It simply a genre I have little interest in. I have the collections just to keep a collection of the Sierra games in general, and to help build the sierra wiki databases (check them out and add to them if you are a fan of the series)! People who know me, know I'm a much bigger fan of KQ, SQ, PQ and QFG! Ya, I like GK series too, and FPFP.

The point of that though is since Larry isn't my favorite, and I'm largely apathetic about it in general, I doubt I will like the 'less favourable' games in the series any more or less! LOL. To me I'd be happy to just have them there simply for the completeness.

As for the SVGA assets I'm still confused about that, since it would seem they would have had to go out of their way to directly split the assets and combine folders if you base it on how the folders were setup on the previous releases.

Do you own any of Sierra game based books. I have the LSL book that came with the 1997 LSL collection and I own the 4th Edition of the King's Quest Companion. I want to get my hands on the 2nd Edition Space Quest Collection.
