Sooooo, welcome all. I thought I'd get the ball rolling. Just so you all are aware, the talkie version of LSL 6 is the version that is included.
SECOND! :-)

Great release. I loved these games as a teenager, can't wait to replay them again. It's also nice to see more classic Sierra titles show up on GOG.

And we can now proudly say that GOG is the first digital games distributor that also offers soft porn (adventure, that is)!
I still have the CDs from this set (from the Collection Series release), but it's great to finally see it available on the site.

Also glad to see they've got both the AGI and VGA version of LSL1 like they did with QfG1. Hopefully that means we'll eventually get the VGA versions of KQ1/SQ1 and the AGI version of PQ1 as well.
Ok, so its not the original Hits and Misses collection from the early 1990s (only had the non-talky version of Larry 6). Nor is it the abysmal Vivendi collection from 2006. Sort of a hybrid between both?

No Larry 7 or Larry's Casino though... or Larry's Pinball, or Nicks Pick Larry's Casino.

Does it have the enhanced SVGA mode for Larry 6?

Keep in mind that Codemasters holds the rights to Leisure Suit Larry, and thus any included games or items had to go through them.

The problem with KQ1/SQ1, and PQ1, will have to be taken up with Activision, which holds the rights to those series...

So the situation is largely unconnected as far as GOG has to deal with it. Larry collection is no indication that things will change for those missing games, any time soon. Albeit, I do hope GOG is in contact with Activision to get permission to update those sets.

On a related note, I wonder if the fact that LSL is not owned by Activision, will have any effect on any future bundle series? Will the fact that Larry is owned by Codemasters, keep it out of any future Sierra game adventure bundles (like the ones we had had over holidays?).

If I recall, there were a couple of mixed publisher bundles over the course of the sale. I certainly wouldn't rule the possibility out.
I'm a bit confused when it says that Larry games 1-6 are included but then says the floppies for 4 are lost... does that mean the fourth game in the series isn't included? Sorry to ask what may seem a noob question but I only ever played the first game in the series and so am not familiar with any of the others or the history.

It's an old joke. Larry 5 is Larry 4. There are actually only six original larry games total. This collection doesn't include Larry 7 (the sixth game in the series). This collection only comes with the first five larry games, plus the remake of Larry 1. It's also not the best version of Larry 6 (it doesn't contain the SVGA/VESA enhanced CD version).

The Missing Floppies joke, is part of the plot of "Larry 5", and also a running gag in several other Sierra products including Space Quest IV.

The whole LSL4 joke started with Al Lowe having promised there wouldn't be a Larry 4. Then when he actually did start working on a sequel, he joked that he was working on Larry 5 (hurr hurr). It also worked as a way to write himself out of the corner the ending of LSL3 had painted them in.
