Hey, has anyone tried this?
http://www.allowe.com/games/larry/tips-manuals/teleport-in-lsl7.html

If so, have you been successful? Coz I haven't, and I'd be really interested in getting it to work.
I've followed the instructions and placed the "CLASSES" file in the GOG/LSL7 folder, but then in-game I press both shifts and that minus, and nothing happens... just in case I press ALT-T after that and indeed nothing happens :(

I'm thinking this might be an issue with the GOG version, but since this is kind of a cheat, it's no big deal.

TL;DR version:

The designer put a cheat in the game to teleport to any scene. I tried it but I can't get it to work.
If you made this file in notepad, it is very likely that your file is actually called CLASSES.TXT. The correct file must be called CLASSES, without any extension.

Because Windows hides the known files' extensions by default, you need to disable this option first.

Please note: I'm using Windows Vista with Polish language, so sorry for bad spelling of the options.
1. Go to Control Panel. In Classic View, go to Folder Options.
2. Select "View" tab.
3. Uncheck "Hide known file types extensions" and save settings.
4. Go to Larry 7 folder. File "CLASSES.TXT" should be visible.
5. Rename CLASSES.TXT to CLASSES.
6. Run Larry 7. Teleportation should work.

Please note: if you try to teleport to invalid location (number noy present on Al Lowe's site), the game will quit with an error message.

Also, by messing with the inventory (Alt+I, click on text to add item), I found that the game has two unused items! First is the "Unnamed Object" - it could fit as an item with the ship picture that Larry finds just after he escapes from La Costa Lotta or a magazine with article about The Juggs (Larry only reads it). Second is the Codpiece (the elephant thingy). The codpiece obviously is present in the game, but not as an inventory item. Both items have narrator's description.

But did you try it with the GOG version?

I had erased the .txt extension but had no luck
Yes, it works for me. In both English version from GOG, as well as Polish version.

The file must be empty. If there is something written inside it, it must be erased.
Nope, can't get it to work no matter what I do.
I checked the instructions several times and did everything to the letter.. I'm begining to suspect the shift keys in my keyboard don't work as they should.

Thanks for answering though!
Does your Shift keys work in other places? Check each one in order to write a word in all caps. If both are working fine, you can try to activate the teleportation again. The remaining key (minus) is on the numpad, not this one below F9.

Once activated, it stays active. You don't need to activate it again after you quit and run Larry 7 again.
They do work, at least when pressed separately, as you would in any normal situation. If I try to press the combination right now I get the (-) so there's the proof :P
I tried switching the windows keyboard language from my usual spanish to english and nothing.

The CLASSES file is completely empty, with no extension, written all in high case, and located in the GOG/LSL7 root folder along with the game .exe

I tried launching the game from both the .exe and its desktop shortcut in case there was a hidden parameter but nothing changes. I press the shift+shift+numpad-minus combination and recieve no visual or audio input. All that changes is Larry's walking speed, which is modified by pressing the numpad-minus alone. Then I try pressing alt-T to no avail.

It's ok, the stars have aligned so that I don't get to teleport in this game :(
I must accept it.
This does not appear to work in the gog verions. I missed 3 points, I think in the 'private cabin' section and was looking to go there and get them. Of course you can't go back once you've past that plot point. Oh well. Has anyone verified that this works in the GOG version? I have "CLASSES" (without extension) in my E:\GOG Games\Leisure Suit Larry 7 - Love for Sail! directory right next to SIERW5.EXE. Press both shift plus the num keypad Minus key and nothing.
I have good news and bad news.

The good is I got the teleport feature to work on the GOG version of LSL7. The bad news is that didn't happen until I started a fresh game, so at least potentially, games saved before adding the CLASSES file won't let you teleport in that game. Since I didn't restart think to restart the game (and I'm not a paid tester so you get the lazy version) I'm not sure which of the steps below unlocked the magic. That being the case, I'm going to put them in order of how annoying they are to do. If you're feeling ambitious, you can start a new game after each step to see which one actually unlocks the debugger mode.

1. Add CLASSES file to the folder GOG created for the game on your computer usually something like:
C:\GOG Games\Launch Leisure Suit Larry 7 - Love for Sail!

2. Add CLASSES file to the folder where LSL7 saves preferences and sundry files:
C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Sierra\Leisure Suit Larry 7

3. Start a new game and enjoy your super powers. As far as I can tell, the game doesn't throw any errors when activating the debugger mode, so you'll need to use a command like alt+t to see if it work. If you were successful, an interface will pop up asking where you want to go.

Saved games from before the CLASSES file was added still work, by the way, but will not allow debugger functions (teleport etc.). Hope that helps!
