I spent several hours playing last night, but there is no save file when I try to load now.

AppData\Roaming\WB Games\LEGO® Harry Potter™ has cached shaders and pcconfig.txt only. There are no saves in this location. There were no errors during autosaves.

Where are the save and how can I avoid this in the future?


Edit: I am not using an admin account on Windows 10. Is this an issue?

Well, it seems to be working now. No clue why it didn't work the first time. I even checked my recycle bin. The save simply didn't exist. I don't even want to play it anymore...
I reformatted my drive and reinstalled Windows 10 and this issue happened again when I reinstalled the game. The first attempt to create a save folder and file always fails. This is repeatable.
Now Years 5-7 just deleted my progress! I was about 20% but now it says 0%. Breh...
