I haven't played this game in two years or so and my memory is a bit fuzzy but if I recall correctly, Zanthia is gone for the rest of the game, you don't need to find her back. She wanted you to find an ingredient for a potion I believe, and I can hint you that, in order to progress in the game you will need flowers/fruits, gemstones, flasks and a bit of experimenting.

There are three recipes you can make, correct ingredients will change the color of the water in the cauldron. My suggestion is that you dump all of your stuff in the forest near Zanthia's house and revisit the first, second and third forest, to collect all the gemstones that you can find (every misused items that get destroyed, thrown down a hole or pit or in the cauldron have the tendency of respawning somewhere else in the forests), and once you've recollected everything, save your game and throw all of your items in the cauldron and take note of the ingredients that change the color of the water. Once you've found your ingredients, you'll just have to reload and experiment with those ingredients.
