Hi folks, happy holiday~ a few quick questions on LoGs (both 1 and 2) if I may before i buy them.

1. items. Are the weapons and armors randomly generated? ie, can i expect the games to be a competent loot adventure? i know the treasures are not random.

2. are the enemies respawned? otherwise, is there a NG+ ?

3. i don;t mind puzzles... but if i want my rpg to be about combat and character development, are LoGs for me?

4. last but not least - i think both games have a mod tool yes? is there an active community with a good number of mods?

thanks for your time~

Generally, no. Weapons, armour, and loot are all static. They always have the same stats and are always in the same place. The only thing that you could consider "generated" are items drops from respawned enemies.

Sometimes they do. The majority will stay dead though.

I don't remember if there's a NG+. In LoG1, there's a kind of special mode if you start a new game with a character with a specific name, though. I don't remember if there's something similar in LoG2.

I would say it's about 60% puzzles/exploration and 40% combat. There are different character and party builds you could make that might be interesting, but I didn't think it was worth another playthough for it. Mostly, the combat is the same, and the items and gear you find kinda funnel you into a more well-balanced party. If you wanted to do an all-mage party, for example, you'd have a tough time finding the equipment for them all.

Edit: but yeah, for a single playthough, there's a decent variety of ways you could build your characters and party.

Regarding the New Game Plus, there's two kind: it is possible to unlock a special character that you can replay the whole game with, and there's also the Master Quest mod which is the same story as the first game except things have been changed around, puzzles have been tweaked, important or powerful items have been relocated elsewhere, and everything has generally been made a little bit extra harder. It is advised, but not necessary, to import your characters from the first playthrough in order to survive the Master Quest. It's a bit akin to a New Game Plus in that sense.
