If this game, as sold on GoG, is DRM-Free, how will the future patches be implemented?
Does the game have a client?

Thanks all!
- GOG Downloader supports game version
- patches can be also added as extras
- GOG can also simply replace setup exe

Mmm...I can't understand. I use Steam, and everytime there's a new patch, this is downloaded automatically. But I would like to buy LoG on Gog..What will I have to do to implement new patches? Download and install it again?

Reinstall game again or just download and apply patch alone.
Have people become so retarded they no longer understand basic patch functionality and have come to rely solely on Steam-like schemes for patching? Goddammit.

The way Steam patches things is horrible, with little control or options.

The GOG Downloader will probably manage it for you, if you're using it (although I don't see why you would), otherwise you'll probably have to download the patch manually and install it manually. Really, it's not rocket science.

Although with the game being completely DRM free and so small, it's more likely that they'll simply let you download the whole installer again and reinstall the updated version.
@Luckmann Please use terms like "retarded" with people that you have met in your life; it's not very polite with guys you don't know.
You say that the wat Steam patches is horrible, but I don't think reinstall game again is better.

@Lexor Thank you so much! The patches will be released on GOG (In "My Library") or on the web-site of the developer?

I do.

And I know.
Chill out, Luckmann.

I'm old school and like to have full control over such things but I can understand if others prefer the convenience of having an automated patching utility.

I think it will be added as a separated installer into your library, and you'll download that with the new GOG Downloader or manually.
GOG stated explicitly that the new downloader supports patching, so i guess you won't need to redownload the whole game again
Installation file has version number on the exe and downloader will notify along with a notice when you log int o GOG...

as for using the downloader i was able to 2 click the game and get everything... it also works as a communication hub for gog.com. i enjoy it and love that i can get max speed on everything... it took me <15 minutes to update my collection using it
Steam has spoiled us that is true...turned us into retards not really. Technology just turns us lazy. I remember searching the Internet for patches back in the 90's and not complaining a bit. Now is a different story though.
1.1.4 Patch Progress

Postby petri » Thu Apr 12, 2012 10:36 am
Hi there!

I just started working on the first patch. Since this might be interesting to some of you, I'm posting progress reports on how the patch is doing.

Done:
- vsync is enabled by default
- borderless windows are no longer topmost
- pressing ESC closes character sheet
- fixed unlimited frost arrow exploit
- improved display resolution auto-detection at first launch
- fixed a couple of typos
- removed check that disables high texture resolution setting when running low on video memory (some graphics drivers seem to report available video memory incorrectly)
- bug fix: very long map marker notes without spaces in them causes the automap to crash
- bug fix: editing a map marker that is on the same exact spot as a marker on the other map page edits them both at the same time
- bug fix: map labels are sometimes drawn partially underneath map symbols
- bug fix: topmost menu item don't work reliably in 2560x1440 resolution
- bug fix: wall text translations are not dismissed when right-clicking
- bug fix: inanimate objects can be backstabbed
- bug fix: projectiles go through doors in some very rare cases

Work in progress:
- volume sliders
- picking up item with 4:3 aspect ratio is tedious
- relax during the weekend trying not to think about LoG
