As a (relatively) younger player who's never played grid-based first-person dungeon crawls, I'm a bit clumsy with the keyboard controls. I love the inclusion of mouse look, and have two suggestions for its improvement:

1. Allow 360° horizontal rotation. Currently it's locked at 180° and I can't think of a reason why, unless there are flanking attack bonuses on a formation and the devs wanted to slow down the rate of rotation so that you couldn't react instantly when ambushed from behind.

2. Being able to walk in mouse look mode would make battle movement a lot more natural. An option for movement to always be relative to the camera direction would mean I could keep eyes on an enemy as I strafe around it, without sacrificing grid movement. By 'relative', I mean that if my formation is facing 12 o'clock and my camera is pointing left to 9 o'clock, strafing right should move me towards 12 o'clock.
the movement is classic to this genre, the mouse look is atmospheric basically... Im sure you could mod/hack it and I'm sure people will but the movement is designed to emulate the old school games.
I can see where you're coming from Desi, however I think that it's important to note the speed with which one can turn, versus the speed with which one can mouselook. Mouselooking is very fast, and give you a quick over-view of your peripheral vision; from a gameplay perspective that's exactly what it's supposed to be. Whereas turning and moving are considerably slower, which would be expected given that you're 4 persons, and you wish to maintain your formation. I think your suggestion would actually remove a significant part of the game, you would be able to gain overview at a much greater speed; maintaining systematic overview of the dungeon, the routes you can take etc. is one of the core gameplay element of the dungeon crawler, hence I think that although your suggestion could be 'friendlier' it would diminish the atmosphere and gameplay.

I suggest you try and forgo mouselook altogether for a while, keep playing with the keyboard, get used to a keyboard only approach to movement and exploration, and see what you think: As an older gamer I found mouselook very disconcerting for the reasons mentioned above, and although it took a while for me to get back tot he old control scheme, it was definitely worth the trouble.
The controls may be "classic" but they are also awful. I'm in my 60s. It really, really needs mouselook.

NM, it has it -- just didn't realize it. Not a great implementation, but whatever.
