When I attempt to apply the new update to my game, it claims the wrong version of the exe file is installed.

Version in-game shows 1.1.13.

What am I missing?

*bump* have the same problem.

First try: just patch 1.0.3.16 on my up-to-date LoG grimrock installation
Legend of Grimrock patch log Update from version 1.0.0.8 to 1.0.3.16 Incorrect version of: C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Legend of Grimrock\grimrock.exe Incorrect version of: C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Legend of Grimrock\grimrock.dat

Second try: Reinstall with 1.0.2.15 full version than patch 1.0.3.16. Funnily, the "licnese.txt" seems to be the problem! :P
Legend of Grimrock patch log Update from version 1.0.2.15 to 1.0.3.16 Incorrect version of: C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Legend of Grimrock\licenses.txt

UPDATE: in-game version is 1.3.6 now, so it's upto date, just the message of the patcher was wrong, should be "you are up to date"

Also (and again), the GOG-version re-numbering of patch and full versions is completly user-intransparent and confusing!!!! PLEASE stop this ! :(

Also, there are also direct updates by almsot human for those with update problems. grimrock_1_3_1_to_1_3_6_patch
grimrock_1_1_4_to_1_3_1_patch

Is this already fixed (the problem with the patch) ?
Anyway, what version is the gog version 1.0.2.15 (full game installer) ?
If too hate it how gog uses their own version numbers...thats just bad.
If they had at least a sticky which would explain everything and inform you about updates and stuff...

So to get the latest version of LoG i do what ?

I'm not sure, I installed the full game (1.02.15) then the patch but got despite the patch error an up to date game (LoG 1.3.6).
So, either 1.02.15 is already LoG 1.3.6 or the patch brought me to the last version even when failing in the patch process.
Would be great if someone (maybe a gog official) could clarify that.
Ah, noone know how to get a up-to-date gog version of the game... :(

Come on, just download full installer, install it and check if in-game version is 1.3.6 . If not download that patch additonally. Than report back here and share your knowledge ;)
No, iname version is 1.3.1....so what should i do now ?
Because the update is most likely broken like someone said.

After you de-installed all your old verions and installed the full version and checked the version? Or after you applied the patch ?

If your version is a proper 1.3.1 you can use the almost human patch from 1.3.1 to 1.3.6 http://grimrock.net/patch/grimrock_1_3_1_to_1_3_6_patch.exe should work.

Yes the new installation is 1.3.1.
The "should work" is the problem, dont know if the gog version will work with that patch, dont want to reinstall again.

Don't be so afraid... show some explorer spirit! :)
I'm 99% sure it will work or just break in installation.

No, thats gog's fault, should have bought the game on steam...gog really needs to do something about their crazy update problems and version numbering.

Do it! :) If it will break i spend you a beer! go, go, go!!!

PS: Steam has more severe problems somestimes... in gog you can bypass that stuff at least manually, not in steam always
