Hello!

I'm a turn-based games fan ... I mean I'm slow on reflexes so real-time games are not for me BUT there are RTS games like BALDUR'S GATE, ICEWIND DALE, etc ... where you have the option to pause the game when an enemy is sighted and issue commands or spells.
Other games like DIVINE DIVINITY don't have an automatic pause, but you can pause the game yourself and issue commands.

I'm badly attracted by this game but is there isn't a way to pause the combat I won't buy it.

Does the game have this feature?

Thanks!

Roberto

Other than the general hit-esc-for-menu, there is no way to pause the combat. There is a mod to make the game turn-based, but I understood that it might break things. Maybe in the future the developers add the feature, although it is unlikely. I don't know if the soon to be released editor will make modding somehow easier, in order to make a more reliable turn-based mod.
You can't pause the combat. Everything is real time.

But you can select the difficulty, and on the easiest setting the game is fine even for those not use to action games.
Don't miss out on it, though. The pacing is just right and you get the hang of combat very quickly. I really wanted it to be turn-based too and was a bit skeptical at first, but it's fantastic in virtually every aspect.

Seconded. :)

I recommend no more or less than one mage the first playthrough too.
I'm also not a huge real-time fan, and nearly didn't get this game because of that. But I haven't had problems with the combat. It's quite easy to get the hang of, even for someone who isn't quick with the fingers. There's only been 2 time-based puzzles so far that were annoying, so that's also good.

EDIT: And for a tip on the timed puzzles, try turning the graphics settings down. On my machine that makes a small-but-helpful difference.

I was worried about this but as noted above on Easy it is not really an issue. What is an issue for me are the time-based puzzles - personally find them VERY annoying and have basically stopped playing because of them.

Take them out and the game would be perfect for me.
