Hi all, I got the GOG newsletter discount that involves this series. I'm kinda strapped for cash at the moment so I can only get one of these two if I decide to get either of them. The problem is that, from reviews, Grimrock 2 looks a lot more like the sort of old school RPG/dungeon crawler that I enjoy but I don't want to get it first if it's essential to play them in order of release.

One way or another, I plan to play both of them but I was just curious if I could get help with figuring out which I should buy first. I appreciate any responses, thanks!

They are both completely separate games. You might get a little bit of lore and going ahh, that's what that means if you play the first one first. The stories though have nothing to do with each other.
