Ok, my fighter just got killed by the first undead knight you run into, trying to decide if i should reload or trudge on, i dont mind rolling with three but i hate having my fighter miss out on experience, especially if its going to be a while before i can bring him back. Arent there alternative methods for revival besides the blue crystals?

The blue save crystals, which come back after a period of time, by the way, revive and heal/recharge all characters. Up to you if you're close enough or not. There's usually one at the beginning of each level - keep in mind you could backtrack if you didn't want to lose progress.
I always save often. That way, if a character dies, I can just reload without losing much progress.

Well anyone know about how far i am from the first rez spot? I just opened the door with crystals on the first level
the first level is pretty small and has few enemies so just push forward (unless you have already passed it then go back but I doubt it).
The first undead knight is right before the first save crystal. Walking there would take less time than reading this answer ;)

Haha! Yea i figured that out,i just went ahead and basically ran right into one without even needing to fight another enemy, i was really trying to figure out the other ways of reviving characters besides the crystals, one review i read for the game alluded to another way of reviving besides the crystals that he said he wish he would have known before playing.....
I've come across two crystals so far, but I wouldn't say they're too far and between. The first time my party members died, was actually by my own hand accidentally; pro-tip: never use a fireball spell when facing the wall. My two insectoids immediately bit the dust. But I ventured forward, and it wasn't too long before I ran into a crystal who resurrected the insectoids.
I had one close encounter with one of those walking mushroom guys and managed to kill all three and my other character had one hit left and i snuck back though the door and pulled the lever and took a nap and then came back just to kill it o.o;;;

So far nu lost characters yet...
