Any idea how GOG is going to patch Grimrock in the future now that they are selling Indie games? Steam has an autopatch option while Impulse just allows the player see that a patch is available for download.

Of course, there was the old Direct to Drive way, where one needed to see what the latest version of the game was on DTD, and that person had to install over the previous version.

I hope GOG not doing their patches the DTD way. Or even worse, have us hunt for the latest patch over the Internet.
Well, i'm only aware of 1 precedent, being The Witcher 2.
I recall they provided a patch when the game got its first one.

But it is indeed an interesting point your making.
When selling good old games, you don't have to take much into account concerning maintenance. That changed indeed.

So with the Witcher 2, you would just check your account occasionally to see if a new patch came out and then download and install. Not bad. It's always good customer service for the digital game distributor to provide the patches.

I almost got Grimrock from Steam because of their autopatch option, but GOG's DRM free option won out for obvious reasons.
The developers are selling a standalone version themselves I would imagine the patch process would be the same for them as GoG.
