VexingVision: Everyone gets 4 Skillpoints on levelup, no matter the race. Otherwise nothing would be a Human, ever.

At least that's how it worked in the games I saw on the 'tube.
Interesting. This makes sense in light of comments posted by the game designers on their forum. Hm, this changes my overall strategy when generating characters.

Nextil: Does Accuracy have any effect on ranged weapons? The description specifically says melee weapons, but it seems like a silly name if that's the case.
No, it is confirmed.

Nextil: Is it strength I should be spending points on for my archer character?
Well, that depends what you are going to do with your Rouge ;)
Does the Skilled trait apply each level?

I think no.
Well, based on my three hours of gametime, I am halfway tempted to reroll.

But, being stubborn, I'll save that for the next play-through.

I begin to have a feeling that a party of four rogues would do exceptionally well (two throwers, one archer, one melee/thrower)...

I was just thinking the same thing. At the very least, two rogues could do very well in a party. At first, I was thinking about two Mages, but I was afraid that - with good reason as it turns out - it'd be a hassle to use the runes quickly on multiple characters; and it really is.

So I ended up with two Fighters, instead.

Two fighters and two rogues might also do excellently. I see no real reason to have a Mage, when push comes to shove. There's alternatives in abundance. Maybe it's because I'm running with an Air/Ice Mage, I'm not feeling like I'm getting full mileage.
Coordinating two mages at the same time with different skillsets amuses me to no end.

Then again, I used to play a lot of Firetop Mountain. :D

Oh, it's clearly not a good idea. :D Not only are minotaurs skill-starved, but they receive their net +2 Statpoints at the cost of 3 Skillpoints and the +20% food consumption, and make horrible Rogues & Mages.
It's not so bad...

My Minotaur Rogue easily does the most dmg. Although, that might be because my fighters are an insectiod and lizardman. A human rounds out my mage. I'm playing hard and it's... fun! I'm actually having the hardest time w/ the rune system.
I'm having a go with 4 mages! Talk about frantic.

Jesus christ. How can you even manage all those spells? You must be dodging like mad.
I'm pretty early into it so far, so it isn't that bad yet...but I'm dreading a certain room on the next level (don't want to post any spoilers). I'll let you all know at what point I give up! lol

Not only that - ranged weapons do not need dexterity so only strength investment (like on minotaurs) is best for ranged character.
