After being consistently pounded by my sister to play this game, I feel like I no longer have a choice but to try this game. However, I run my life on a Mac and I'm wondering if there is a way to run this game on there. Or what the best way to run it would be.

I've had success in running GoG.com provided games on VirtualBox and with Crossover before. However, Crossover seems to have a crap support for Legend of Grimrock.

Does anyone have experience with running this game on a Mac? And what would you recommend? (the first person to say 'buy Windows' or something along those lines gets a cookie and a punch : D)
I don't have a Mac, but I heard, that the game run flawlessly on linux using Wine. So, you could look for a wine binary compiled for MacOS (afaik, there was a DarWine project or so) and give it a try.

Cheers.

WineHQ will have tips for linux many can be used for hints at a solution for Mac.
The mac port is still planned but is not being actively worked on right now. The editor is their current priority, then who knows...

At the above link on the official forums is a pair of threads about getting it to run via wine (in a wine wrapper). It can be a bit system specific and finnicky but is your best place to start if you're unwilling to install bootcamp and dual boot to play the windows version.

The porting team wrapper lets you just point to the windows Legend of Grimrock install file and does the rest, extracting and installing it into a 'bottle' for you.

If you want to play it any time this year, working out how to run the windows version on your mac is currently the best option.
