Before I begin, I think I should point out that I actually have the Steam version of the games. I'm not sure if that makes any difference or not but from what I've heard they are more or less the same files.

I purchased all 4 LoK games during a Steam sale a while back, but the problem I'm having only applies to Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2. The other games work perfectly as they should.

In both of these games, before and after the FMV video is displayed, the windows desktop and title bar appears and flashes on the screen. It's also worth noting that I have similar issues with other old games such as some of the Tomb Raiders. The issue doesn't render the game unplayable, but it's distracting enough.

Things I have tried:

- Compatibility mode.
- Updating drivers.
- Updating DirectX.
- Beta drivers.
- Old drivers.
- Using Nvidia Inspector to set Buffer-flipping mode to OGL_FORCE_BLIT_ON.
- Disabling / Enabling Vsync, Triple Buffering, Anti Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering in game and in the Nvidia Settings.
- Checking the boxes for Disabling Desktop Composition / Themes.
- Adding the game to DEP exceptions.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Did you try disabling your second monitor?

instinctepyon: Did you try disabling your second monitor?
I don't have a second monitor, and second monitor is already disabled in control panel.

Bumping this because I'm still looking for a solution to this issue. I'm now running on a completely different computer with Intel HD 4600 integrated graphics and this PC has the same exact problem as my other one. In this game, the game returns to the desktop for a brief second in between each FMV.

Hey, apologies you have not received replies regarding this, i too previously suffered (and sometimes do now) suffer from the flickering,

Heres the things i did which mainly solved it. (i only had it on soul reaver 2, on a 6 year old laptop)
1. close task manager,
2. strangely this sounds stupid, but it actually did work for me... boot the game up without task manager entirely. Then when you get into gameplay, alt-tab out the game, then back in, i still get a little bit of flickering but not as much,
