I'm using a Logitech extreme 3d pro

The problem is that when I move the stick backwards raziel gets stuck moving that direction, this is without the logitech profiler, with the profiler raziel gets stuck without having me move the stick

I have the very same problem with my Xbox 360 controller.

Raziel keeps moving in one direction and although I can change it by moving the stick he is stuck running. The character never stops unless I crouch, walk or push the devour soul button.

Yeah, Soul Reaver doesn't seem to like modern controllers.

As suggested elsewhere try downloading xpadder and map the keyboard controls to your controller. I did exactly that with my xbox 360 pad and it works really well.

You can use a controller but you'll want a mapping software, default controller setup seems to recognize controllers but it's bugged your Raziel will just start walking and walking and walking and won't stop. So you'll want a mapping software to map keyboard controls to it.
