After enjoying my playthrough of SR1 which also took me hours to get everything running I decided to take on the endeavor that SR 2 seems to be.
After reinstalling it multiple times all the solutions listed here in the Forums seem to not help.

Sarafans solution just led to a black screen after I clicked START GAME. I have tried multiple versions of the d3d8 wrapper and none of them seem to work.

On a new file the game runs but then the issues happen. I can't devour, I teleport while attacking and as soon as I switch forms to get through the fence after the courtyard, I can't move without jumping. I am not sure if I tried everything listed in the forums but after 3h put in I am just desperate to play this game so I thought maybe a direct thread to my issue might help me more.

On the Steam Forums I found a megapatch that didn't work either btw.

I hope someone can help.

I found a solution that suited my issue.


So after hours of uninstalling, reinstalling, and desperation I decided to ask the Speedrun community for Soul Reaver 2.
My question seemed to reach knowledge and they pointed me towards the ZIP file provided in the speedrun resources.
This is simply the same d3d8.dll but with some modded stuff on top of it like slightly better shading etc...

Download the DirectX9 Wrapper from Well because I cannot post links for some reason just change the "dots" with acutal dots

For some reason the normal d3d8.dll did not work for me at all, this here works.
Simply unpack the Zip into the game folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 2)
delete the 2 movie files (movxx.dat)
and then just start sr.exe or sr2modded.exe
