hi all sorry for posting about this, during the promo weekend i picked up all the legacy of kain games (Which i am a huge fan of and do still own the PS2 versions of all the games, but decided to become a bit of a PC gamer)
i downloaded the installer for each of the games.
Run the installer everything is perfectly fine, i then try running the games and windows just flickers and goes into basic mode then backs out back to normal mode and the games wont run.

This is for all of them now, i did previously get them all to work and the games now no longer want to work so i thought re-installing might help,

Also with regards to Soul Reaver 2 it has a big issue with flickering which i discovered that it is task manager that is causing the issue, however it does not go entirely i was wondering if anyone knew how to fully get rid of it because it is annoying...

*Edit*

for the record i am using windows 7 32-bit version with 2 gig of RAM (its a laptop, and quite an old one at that)

*UPDATE*

i found a way to get all the games to work fully.

i uninstalled them entirely (Deleted the installers too) redownloaded them.
Whilst redownloading them i then used Regedt32 (Pre-installed as its a windows application) type / copy that directly within the search bar (cannot contain any other characters as its set to be hidden from any search other than that)

from here there is a spot (from memory) H-KEY LOCAL MACHINE software (there should be within the list one for software) then found (it would either be under GOG or Edios) i think it is under GOG but i cannot remember entirely (from the top of my head) i deleted *ALL* of GOGs registry entries, re-installed and off it goes!

*NOTE* you dont need to delete all GOGs registries, i just deleted all of them because i have a number of games from GOG and i dont have them on my laptop so i might as well remove them. if you go through and find the game title and then delete the folder of the game title, outright that will also solve your issue.

i posted this as a reply for those who have been having the same issue in the future. This is how i solved it

it should be noted though, when editing the registry of a system actually deleting registry entiries can be a harmful thing to do if you dont know what you are doing so i would urge you to make a back-up version of the registry, IF you do actually do something entirely wrong you can always *MERGE* the old version with your current one. (if you know exactly what you are looking for theres no much risk involved)
I never came across any of these problems, thankfully, but it's always nice to have a solution handy if I ever do. Thank you so much!

Also, you should mark your post as an answer/solution to the thread's question, more people are likely to click on this if they know it's been solved. Just a suggestion, though.

Happy gaming! :)

Oh, thank you for the clarification!

Well, then, just keep it unsolved, then, I guess. :-P

wow sorry for a really late reply... i seriously did not get a notification about replies... (new account, i wonder if i am missing an option somewhere...)

Yeah, i ran into these issues specifically because i am limited on memory on this laptop, and pretty much i have to install a game to play it, whenever i want to play it, just so i have some memory to work with for other things,
so if you dont remove the games i dont see a reason why you should run into these issues :)
