I'm playing with a DS3 controller and the MotioninJoy gamepad tool. I mapped all the keys to the controller and it's working fine, except that I need to hold the control stick at a very specific angle to make Raziel run forwards. If I tilt it even slightly to the right or left, he runs diagonally. This makes it a pain to move around, as Raziel keeps wobbling back and forth between running straight and diagonally. It's even harder to consistently move as I want when I actually need it, since I need to hit a highly specific angle on the control stick.

Since I doubt anyone has modded in proper analog controls, is there any way to edit the controller in MotioninJoy so that I can change the angle it needs to be held at to run diagonally?

Import the uploaded file to MotioninJoy. Use the ''Custom'' setting under the profile section and select the imported configuration file.

Use following keyboard configuration for Soul Reaver [ingame]:
Forward: Arrow Up
Back: Arrow Down
Left: Arrow Left
Right: Arrow Right
Jump/Swim: S
Devour Soul: D
Aim/Grapple: Q
Action: Enter
Crouch: Z
Sneak/Face Enemy: C
Zoom: RCTRL
Pan left: NUMPAD 6
Pan right: NUMPAD 4
Glyph menu: Space Bar

Don't use the gamepad configuration in soul reaver.
If you apply everything correctly you should be able to move properly with your left analog stick. Change the other keys at your will.
Ask if you didn't understand anything, my english is not the best.

UGH! Sorry! I misunderstood the question. I know you mean it's too sensitive with the analog sticks to move forward... I just use the direction buttons for difficult moments.

I solved this problem - by borrowing a friend's Dreamcast and finding the game for it, instead. I can now play it without only eight directions to walk in, constantly popping sound and all the other myriads of problems this version has.

I'm very disappointed in this GoG release. Even if you argue that terrible controls and no real gamepad support is acceptable because it was that way when it was released, there is just no justification for issues like the popping sound. Why should I pay for a terrible re-release of a game when I can get a better version on a console of all things? The two things that the PC version does have going for it, resolution and framerate, have to be fixed with a fan patch - and that breaks the FMVs.
