Ok, just to make sure - I need to kill the the Larkhon with the green skull in order to get the next ingredient, but what happens if I managed to kill otherwise? because I did that by throwing weapons and everything at him (even the skull) since didn´t know that I had to use it.

So should I load a previous save or should I continue?

As long as it's dead, it doesn't matter. It's just really tedious without the skull because it keeps eating your weapons, while it takes only a few skull charges to destroy it. To use the skull, right click with it on a character with enough spell points. You can continue your game either way, don't worry about it. You could maybe restart only if you wasted too much supplies in that particular fight.
