Fun game, but one gripe: I keep collecting new weapons and have no idea which is an improvement over what I'm already carrying. Kind of takes a lot of the fun out of collecting loot, and I never know what to sell and what to keep. Inventory is bulging with stuff. Anyone know of some way to "identify" weapons or of a guide somewhere that lists item stats?

Try checking the manual or here:

Anyway, if memory serves me, equipping a weapon should increase the character's might stat, so you can compare two weapons in-game by checking how much each of them raises your stats.
Hmm the link doesn't work but it never occurred to me that the might stat was a simple proxy for damage. Thanks for the reply!

Hmm, the link works for me. If you need the lists, I'll send you the downloaded scans via e-mail. It's from a guide that provides the complete information about all the monsters, spells, weapons and items. The weapons are easily comparable using the "weapon factor" value, and special weapons also have an additional magic attack or effect.

That's a great link, thanks! I can't find it in the manual which is included with the GOG release, is that from an official guide or something?
Not sure, but it does look official! Maybe it was included with the box version, or else it's one of those guides you normally have to pay for extra.

Yeah, because the layout and font looks like the manual. It would be cool to get the whole document, whatever it is.
