I started playing the game, and suddenly it crashed.
Upon restarting, I get into the menu, start a new game and after the cutscene instead of getting the normal loading screen, I get this message:

"LOL III did not shut down correctly.
Your hard drive cache may need to be rebuilt.
Rebuilding the file will take a few minutes.
Would you like to rebuild the file? OK?"

So I'm like hellz no!
I'm afraid this game might mess up my 2TB drive with some weird Win98 command and force me to reformat and loose all my data!

Please help, I cannot start the game otherwise...
Has anybody else done this? Is it safe??
i always clicked yes without problems, its just a cache file, not your complete hard drive. i dont think the developers would add a command to format your hard drive :D
For some reason my game crashed and it continues to crash each time it attempts to rebuild. Any thoughts how to prevent it rebuilding? Or how to let it rebuild without crashing? Cheers.

Edit: Aha. Deleting cdcache.wsx and cdcache2.smf seems to fix the rebuilding problem.

The initial problem is caused when in Gladstone Forest, when you go to the Apple (or whatever fruit it is) seller and the game crashes, giving the error: File not found - LEVELS\EDWOD1\DE3DK01.AUD
