Hi there,

I am in the Huline Jungle in Lands of Lore 2. There is a place you can only get out of when you morph into a lizard (at the waterfall) but I do not morph at all. Bin standing/running around quite a while and nothing happens. Is there any way or cheat I can become a lizard? I checked some walkthroughs and they all agree that I have to change form here..

Otherwise I have to restart (=deinstall), I have no savegame from before the time i got there... :-(

I haven't played much of LoL2, but I do know that at some point you can control shapeshifting. Perhaps the waterfall can wait until you gain that ability?

I’m currently playing LOL2 and I had exactly the same problem, literally yesterday in the evening. I was walking around like an idiot in that place, looking for some kind of a hidden passage or something. I’ve spent like 40 minutes waiting to morph into a lizard, but he always morphed into the monster, arghhh. And jumping into that river means death eaten by a fish (?). So I think this is a bug in a game that wasn’t discovered.

So now you know that when you play a game, and RPG game in particular – make multiple save games, because you never know when you’re going to screw things up and you’ll have to jump back a savegame or two :)

I have a couple of save games from the jungle (my LOL2 is from Gog.com of course). I can send you the files if you want, just PM me your e-mail.

BUT: I found the solution in a german forum :-) There is a hidden switch in the wall in front of the lava pit. On the left hand side when you are looking at the pit. The switch removes one statue and afterwords you can click on now-accessible wall.

It is still a bug imho but at least there is another way out.

Speaking of getting stuck, I had tried to run LoL2 before GOG and gave up because of how frustrating it was to keep it stable, as well as a "refuses to turn into a lizard" when I wanted to get some ring in a hidden area. Is it best to stumble around and try to randomly find things, or is it better to follow a guide to make sure that I don't miss anything?

Well, that depends. Imho games like that are all about stumbling around. Some secrets are as hidden as stuff in grimrock (and I would assume that no-one was able to find everything in grimrock without a guide), but most are not. Bad thing is that you cannot control your form (until later) and so you never know whether you have to find a secret passage oder "wait" to turn into a lizard.
