brax1411: As the title suggests, I get game-killing stuttering when using mouse-look. Only happens when the game is running with hardware acceleration, and only when looking in certain directions. Yet if I turn using the keyboard, there is no stutter in that same location.
If I move the mouse around with mouse-look turned off, the stutter is less noticeable.
I've tried every graphic mode, and I've tried changing the nglide settings (although I don't know if they even work - the splash screen option seems to do nothing).
I've set CPU type to "auto", and that game me a general FPS boost, but it doesn't touch the stutter *at all*.
Anyone else have this issue?
Try uninstalling and then reinstalling nGlide 1.02. Check into your Lol2 directory to make sure that your game startup icon is pointing to "Lol2_3dfx.conf" in order to run the game. (Right-click and select "properties" on the Lol2 game icon.)This is what I'd advise if you are using the standard Gog installation.
But if you know how (if not then just ignore this next), then I'd suggest using the Dosbox SVN-Daum version, instead of the skimpy DOSbox version Gog includes, and writing your own Lol2.conf settings file to run the game. Here's mine, for example (works great):

(See attachment--I had to put a .jpg extension on it to get the forum here to save it as an attachment. When you download it rename it to change the extension from .jpg to .txt and you can see the file in Notepad, save it, whatever...;))

Notes:
I'm running a nice midi program in Win8.1 (Coolsoft's VirtualMidiSynth, available free, btw) which all my DOSbox games can access by the midi=win32 setting above, and by setting "General Midi" in a DOSbox game's setup file. I used to use the Gravis Ultrasound emulation (which you can see by some of the # commands), but this is much better, imo. The Win8.1 installation of the Coolsoft midi also works for any Windows games that look for a midi output, like Tex Murphy's "Overseer," for instance.
Also, drive D:\ for me as seen in the attached .conf file is a hard drive (just in case you might be tempted to think it's a CD/DVD drive.)
There is actually quite a lot that can be done to improve the DOSbox game configuration that ships standard in Gog's games. You get the standard settings which will allow the game to run, but if you want all of the DOSbox bells and whistles you'll want to move to the full Dosbox SVN-Daum version (for gamers, of course, and also free, of course.)
Hope you get it worked out! GLIDE mode is the only way to play and appreciate this game. Software mode is just a pixel fest...;)
