Last time I played the game was the CD version (with voice) and there is this bug.
When a character has more than 128 HP and his health drops so low that most (more than 128?) HP need to be healed, Heal 3 and Heal 4 spell only raise the HP a little instead of fully. Even if the character is knocked out, these spells still don't work properly, only healing a little.

Is this bug is fixed in GoG version?

It's the reason I stopped playing twice already (I forgot why I stopped playing the first time, only to hit the bug again on my second playthrough). It's so annoying, fighting for life in the White Tower, and then get wiped out just because several desperate healing attempts fail due to this bug.

Anyone know if there's a patch out there?

Thanks!

Played through the game without encountering that. Not much help but thats been my experience. I would imagine it would have been brought up on the game forum if the bug is there

Well, I loaded some of my old savegames in GoG version (downloaded a few days ago), and the bug is definitely there.

I don't understand how nobody noticed such a nasty bug. Then again, I do grind in the mines before entering white tower, and I'm nearing 200 HP... not hard to notice, when there is such a significant reserve and I try to squeeze as much as possible from Heal 3 casts so I wait for HP to get very low (and then die due to this bug :).

When 128 (confirmed) or more HP need to heal, Heal 3 only fills ~16 HP according to my observations.
Bezel Cup works correctly, so it's obvious what the bug is. Bezel Cup probably just sets HP to maximum, where Heal 3 tries to animate the HP bar growth, and the code that does that is probably bugged with some signed char variable or something like that.

Do we have some DOS code hackers around? :S
