Hi

I downloaded v. 2 from the site and installed perfectly. The game starts up, but there is no sound at all, and when I try to start a new game, it crashed right after the guy has finished walking across the map.

Time attack works though, but no sound.

I'm running Win8, I've tried running in various compatibility modes, disabled UAC, tried many different resolution both windowed and fullscreen. Running on a Lenovo Thinkpad T430 with an nVidia NVS 5400M (I've also tried running on Intel integrated graphics).

Does anyone have any clue how I can get the game to work?

It works fine on my Win7-PC, but I'd like to use it with my laptop connected to my tv.

I have the same problem
I also have the same problem - Win 8 x64, Nvidia GTX660M. Latest drivers for everything. At least I am not the only one!
I have the exact same problem.
new update doesn't seem to help with this problem.
I have the exact same problem and see no way to fix it.

I'm hoping I haven't wasted $15 downloading a game I can't play.
Hello, downloading and installing DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) has solved the problem for me. I'm not allowed to post links so you'll have to look for it.
Maybe you are meant to update your sound drivers. There is a post on the official LA-MULANA blog about what you should have for the game to run properly.

This exactly fixed my problem!

GOG, you might need to update the installer to include at least a link to the appropriate DirectX components. The default "websetup" on microsoft.com as pointed to by various other solutions did not install the proper d3dx9_43.dll for the game to function.

Win7 Ultimate, clean install.
I ran into the same problem.

GOG still has not fixed this.

Way to go.

You have to install that old DirectX runtime to get it to work.

It uses a weird version of the runtime or something.
