My hand/eye coordination isn't what it used to be, and I don't use gamepads as they tend to hurt my hands. Is this game stupidly difficult in the vein of Super Meat Boy (what a waste of $3 that was) or is there actually a chance that someone of average ability could complete and even derive enjoyment from it?

It is not very fast-paced, but requires the player to explore and think much more than Zelda games do. The bosses can be rather hard, but intense action is the exception rather than the rule.
Thanks. Exploration and thought are great. Something that requires the reflexes of a thirteen year old hopped up on a case of Mountain Dew... isn't.

If you want to complete the hidden bonus area, you will need those, plus the patience of a mountain range.
